Aeromexico Flight 576 from Cancun with 104 passengers aboard was hijacked Wednesday by a group of individuals who demanded to speak with the Mexican President Felipe Calderon. The hijackers ordered the pilot to land the plane in Mexico City, threatening to detonate a bomb in a cardboard box. The plane landed safely and was immediately surrounded by federal police. Passengers deplaned and the police moved in to make the arrests. CNN reports that the hijackers were possibly Bolivians or Colombians, and they have been taken into custody. The incident ended without any reported injuries. |
